If you’re interested those can be found at storyFANATIC and Seward Street. The former is all about storytelling and screenwriting; the latter all about character animation.

Of course, everything online is kept in place at my personal homepage.

Now you know everything.

Jim Hull

Animating like it’s 1995.

Animating like it’s 1995.

"There is no animation business plan more foolproof than creating work from a foundation of creative..."

“There is no animation business plan more foolproof than creating work from a foundation of creative integrity”

- Wall Street Analyst Apologizes For Predicting UP Would Fail (via feedly)

"Audiences are good people. Andrew Flavin:

Love those headphones (their earbuds are great too). It doesn’t surprise me that Marco, the maven, is a Sennheiser guy.

I love them too - and pretty much for all the same reasons that Marco lists: great sound, cancel out external noise, and super comfortable. I’ve had two pairs in about 5 years. The last pair died because I kept taking them home over the weekend to play Call of Duty 4.

Best place to get them (price and service) I’ve found is: headphones.com.

Engraved Kindle

Cool idea, but I don’t think I could part from it long enough to have this done.

— Video: Kindle 2 sees the wrong end of a laser, recommends you don’t panic (via feedly)

josh: chase and belushi

This is my son’s first web ad, and I couldn’t be more proud. In all his enthusiasm he, of course, made it in MS Paint and intends on having it flash (regardless of my advice that most people don’t like flashing ads). In our kitchen there is even a countdown to when his website will go “live.”

At 9 years old he’s undertaken the monumental task of learning how to program computer games, starting with Java. He spent the last year creating Super Mario World levels with Lunar Magic and, having grown bored with that, is ready to move on to the next big thing.

Kindle 2 Review

a palpable stigma here associated with a person who does not read actual literature. It was beginning to get me down. “Maybe,” I thought, being fully aware of my status as technology-obsessed lunatic, “if I bought a Kindle 2, I would start reading more.”
A justification I confidently used in my purchase of same object. Have to say, for me, it’s absolutely true. I’ve read more in the past week than I think I have in 3 years.

— Kindle 2 Review (via feedly)

marco:

In addition to it being a perfectly crisp day in Los Angeles, I also enjoyed being on a studio “lot” once again. I had forgotten how great it was to walk between those immense buildings that house the collective dreams and aspirations of so many.

What?! Having just picked a new Kindle and being a lover of Instapaper. this makes me extremely happy.

Comments or No Comments?

marco:

“The main reason I don’t allow comments is that I want to inspire debate. I think people do their best writing when they’re forced to defend their ideas on their own turf. It’s one thing to leave a comment on someone else’s blog, but quite another to put your argument in front of your own readers. It forces a level of consideration that, without fail, results in a higher quality exchange of ideas.”

— Alex Payne

This is exactly the rationale behind using reblogs as a means of debate and discussion.

I keep going back and forth on this with my own blogs. Usually I’ve found though that when I do leave it open, at least on my sites, the conversations are always constructive and respectful. Perhaps when more and more people have their own sites, it would be OK to turn them off.

Waiting for the movie I’m screening to end. I went to college and grad school not knowing a single person, and while it was a little terrifying, it was also liberating.
